This is not your typical Lord of the Rings slash fanfiction by any means. Why not? Well
were are several things that put this story apart from what I consider the "norm" of slash.
1.) It is not a typical pairing (i.e. Frodo/Sam; Legolas/Aragorn)
2.) It is not "point what point?" That is, even though it's a more unrealistic pairing, it
is presented in a way that is to make it seem realistic.
3.) It takes place twenty-five years after The Return of the King, but does not try to change
the original story *at all*. I have worked my butt off trying to make this fit into the timelines
accurately, and if there are any errors I would like to be informed.
Other things to note:
While it is well know that hobbits age slower than humans and live longer, I want to restate
some common thinking so you can better understand this story.
A 22-year-old hobbit would be considered by modern day standards as about 15 or 16.
A 63-year-old hobbit would be considered by modern day standards as about 45 or 46.
Please also note this story is currently a work in-progress. I wrote what is now the first
five chapters as one "part" and decided I wanted to post it somewhere to get feedback on
the way the story is going. I've had one beta reader so far, and she has enjoyed the story
as it is, but I would really like some more comments as to what you as a reader think of it
and where it is going. I understand it's rather converiversal and someday I might get
around to explaining the inspiration and motivations for it, but for now I just want to
write all the ideas in my head out.
