A sort of twisted Back to the Future story set in an alternate universe where unexpected circumstances have occured to keep Marty trapped in 1955. Four chapters are written, but I'm not sure if I want to post them up or not. Instead you get the opening paragraph. Will possibly be slash. Depends on if I have the guts for it.
In 1924 the largest brush fire ever to sweep through the town of Hill Valley came to pass due to an overly dry summer after a winter with no rain. Much of the city was safe from the fires that cropped up due to the dead grass that had sprung up and died dry everywhere but while the courthouse survived many of the local shops, the firehouse being one of them, burned down. Without the firehouse standing there were no fire trucks to rescue the smoldering shops. Down went Al's Deli, the brand new Cineplex, the post office and café. By the time the fires were out the whole of downtown Hill Valley had been covered in a blanket of soot and ash. Many empty facades were all that remained of the buildings that had once stood. They rebuilt, as people are wont to do, but some things, some irreplaceable things, were irrevocably lost forever.
When Hope Has Failed, chp. 3:
Suffice to say, I need to finish this fic. Only, several decisions in it make me hesitant on which direction I want to go with it. I also have to be in a very distraught sort of mood to write this piece, and I haven't reached that yet. And it takes a lot of research to write every sentence, and I just haven't had the time to dedicate to the piece. It's my first/only story set in the actually time frame of the book series, and even though it's AU I want to get my facts right. Not started. May never be written, but there is possibilities.
