Wow. This is another sequence mate to a cel that I've been eyeing for years. The sequence mate comes with the original matching background, but the price tag was incredibly steep compared to what I got this one for. I'm so happy to add this memorable moment to my collection.
Chao has been turned back into a cat by Unico because of her selfish nature. But when Granny falls into the river trying to catch a fly-away towel, Chao rushes to her aid and leaps into the water to rescue her. As she does, Unico turns the tiny cat back into a human, because he knows she's really selfless after all.
Chao catches Granny and with Unico's help they swim to the river bank and climb out together. It's a pivotal moment for Chao's character development, and really shows Unico that she's made of tougher stuff. I'm so happy to have a cel of all three of them together!
Background is a layered set of two backgrounds and a book-end background to create the feel of the original background. Unfortunately, no douga was included.
I was quite surprised to see it was only one layer.
