Cel History

This was a great cel I picked up at Anime Expo '99. I sold it on eBay early 2000 to make funds for more new cels and for Fanimecon in February of 2000. She had come with an unmatching background, but had a classic expression on her face. Hope she enjoys her new home.

This is a machine made Evangelion reproduction cel of Shinji at his desk. It also had a nice little content looking Asuka in the background. I won this off eBay, but later resold it on eBay, since it is a reproduction and I was broke.

This is a nice cel of Aya from Weiß kreuz I bought my friend Jey for Christmas. I probably paid way to much for it, but its still nice. It came with a matching sketch. Its now happily living in his cel collection. ^^;; Someday, though, I'll have a nice Aya cel in my collection, for sure! *L*

This is a pretty spiffy Ura cel, from El Hazard. The series didn't interest me that much the first time I saw it, but Ura was cute. I liked Jinnai too. ^^;; I bought this Ura cel randomly though, and regret getting it instead of a cel of Tot from Weiß kreuz. Ura's cool though. Armor protector cat of Fatora/Makoto. Sold for $66 on eBay.

Another dorky Ura cel. Okay, same cat-thing as above, he's the protective armor for Makoto/Fatora. He's cute. I wish he had hind legs in this cel, but ah well. ^^;; This was just an inexpensive cel I won off of eBay. The guy who sold me it is really cool, too. ^^; Aah, but got rid of my El Hazard cels on eBay. This went for all of $6. ^^

A very pretty close-up shot of the most loved Gundam pilot, Duo. Unfortunately his eyes are closed, but it's a gorgeous cel none the less. The painting job is excellent. Tends to remind me of Van (from Escaflowne) closing his eyes when trying to use the mental pendant to locate hidden troops. Anyway, this was bought as a gift for my friend Jey, who is a fan of Duo's. The cel came with a matching sketch.

I bought this on a whim off of eBay, because the current bidder had -2 feedback, and the price was waaay low and I really liked the cel. ^_^ The cel was two layered [one layer is just his eye]. It came with the sketch as well as a rare pre-sketch both were very nice. I really liked this cel because it covered the entire "canvas". I sold it for $60 to a much bigger FY/Tasuki fan. I'm happy he's gone to a better home.

My favourite of the three main girls from MKR is Fuu. I'm too cheap to by a nice cel of her, because I don't like her as much as say Clef or Ascot, but she's cute enough. This cel was really inexpensive, so I got it. At the time I bought it, I hadn't even seen the OVA yet. Sad isn't it? Fuu came with a matching sketch and then sold on eBay.

A nice End cel of Fuuma from the X movie. I admit to not being THAT big of an X fan, but the oppertunity to get this cel reasonably cheap presented itself and I took it. It also came with a matching sketch. The cel is large, as movie cels are, and the B/C layer(s) that was Kanoe weren't included ;_; so alot of it is cut-off (although it's just white/blank). But still. Yay Fuuma. Sold on eBay.

Oooh, the Goddess Urd. *drool* My favourite character from Aa! Megami-sama. I got a cel of her, without a sketch ;_; but it's pretty. Her in her Goddess garb, casting a spell. An EXPENSIVE cel. I'm happy though. Picked her up from Splash Anime at AWA 5 [demo, Sharon Apple cel ga hoshii yo . . .]. Sold on eBay ;_;

This is a really gorgeous cel of Haruka, but the cel is stuck to wax paper, and the paper has a tear, which sucks. It did come with a clean sketch, though. This is a great scene, from when Haruka and Michiru first meet. Sold on eBay. ;_;

Another cel of the beautiful Juuhachi-Gou. I picked it up at Mandarake as well, and after managing to sucessfully seperate the cel from the rice paper, I'm quite happy. She came with a Matching Sketch. She was also an 126 end cel. She's such a babe. Sold on eBay

This is a cel I got for dirt cheap at FanimeCon in 1999. It was in a box of marked-down cels, and for such a price I couldn't resist, since I love Juunana-Gou. This cel came with a matching sketch, but it was stuck. Sold on eBay

Lain cels are so hard to come by, and usually impossible to afford, but I got this from a dealer who is a Japanese local and the price was to-die-for. The cel is gorgeous, excellently lined and painted, and came with a matching sketch. I really like Lain. The series is whacked as all shit, but its good. Sold on eBay.

Lame little Ranma cel I picked up at Mandarake for $2 [which comes to $2.16 with tax, ha!] Anyway, it was Ranma and it was $2 so I was like what the hell. It came with a sheet of genga paper, but nothing drawn on it. o.o; Yay? Sold on eBay.

Trowa playing chess with Wufei. Or was it Duo? . . . anyway Trowa wa Trowa da. Pretty hair highlights and you can see an eye! This is an end cel too. C17. Unfortunately since it's a C-level he's missing part of his elbow behind the chess piece. This is from one of the later episodes, like 40 something. This cel also came with a matching sketch. Sold on eBay for a piddilance.

One of the earlier episodes, um, 5 or 6 I think, when Trowa and Wufei are at the circus together and Trowa shares tea with the Chinese boy. I wish I had the BG, fire and Wufei layers. ;_; Came with a partial matching sketch though, at least. Sold on eBay for a piddilance. ;_;

I got this for an excellent fee at Comic World LA-1 2000, which was the first American doujinshi comiket. I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. Still, wasn't expecting them to have cels, so I had to bum a buck off my friend Chris. I was offered a very nice price for the sell by a lass in Australia and at the time the money sounded good, so after my angsting, I decided to let Hotohori go Down Under. I hope he's happy there. He came with the sketch.
