Cardcaptor Touya

Here is a Frequently Asked Questions guide, because I get so many of the same emails asking the same sorts of questions! If one of your questions isn't answered here, please feel free to email me the question. But I hope to answer most of the questions via this page!

1.) Is Cardcaptor Touya a real series? Yours is the only page I can find on it!

Sorry to dissapoint, but no, Cardcaptor Touya is not a 'real' series. There is no comic/manga or anime out there about this show. I like to present the story as a "fourth season" because Makkura and I have tried so hard to make it fit into the existing anime timeline and have done elaborate art and cards for the series, but Cardcaptor Touya is just an elaborate fanfiction. Sorry.

2.) Can I buy episodes of Cardcaptor Touya from you? Can you make me copies?

As stated in the above question, Cardcaptor Touya does not exist in anime or manga form. The only 'copies' are the stories I've written, which you can download free of charge online! :)

3.) Is Touya gay?

First off, let me state this series is called 'Cardcaptor Touya' and not 'Cardcaptor Tori' for more reasons than one. There is nothing on these pages that has anything to do with the American/English dub release of 'Cardcaptors'. All the information, character development and themes are based off the original Japanese animated series (also to note, it's not based off the manga, but the anime series). To that end, I will state that homosexuality in these series is not looked down upon. It will not be shoved in the face of the readers either. Although there is more adult themes in this series, and down the road this may include 'romantic' relationships, there will never be 'sex' in these stories, at least not as depicted explicitly. This goes for male/male, female/female and male/female pairings. As for the answer if Touya is gay? Wait and see. >:D

4.) How come when I download the video clip on the Fun Stuff page it doesn't work?

I really have no answer to this. The file is saved in .ram format, and requires Real Media Player to work. I have to note, the first three seconds of the clip or so come off as what I call 'static' but this clears up quickly and after that it should play fine. If you operate with an iMac the piece may not play; for this I am sorry.

5.) Why does it take you so long to do updates!?

This is a very good and valid question. I wish I had a better answer. Namely, the reason I'm so slow with updates is because I've really sort of 'grown out of' anime. The muse that lets me write Touya has flittered away. I still love the story though, and I have so many fans I berate myself everyday because I can't write! So I'm determined to try to work on the story. I'm just slow at it. I'm also starting my senior year of college and taking a six class load, so my free time is rather scarce. I apologize for all the delays in the story. This page has exisited since 22 March of 2001 and as I'm writing this (19 July 2002) only five chapters exisit. That's just horrible, and it's all my fault. I'm so sorry.

6.) Can I host the chapters of your fanfiction on my page/archeive?

While I am flattered by such requests, and almost always grant 'yes' to such things with my other stories, because of the graphic (and I mean pictures not violence) nature of CCT I have to always say 'no' to this. What really makes this story work, in my opinion, is the art that is associated with it. The cards that are on the left side of each story, the art gallery, the Opening and Ending Themes and the general lay of the page. Without all these features, it ceases being the 'fourth season' and just becomes 'another fanfic'. I will happily, happily allow you to link back to this page however!

7.) Can you help me write my Cardcaptor Sakura/other series fanfiction?

While I would love to be able to offer pointers and critiques to everyone else's stories, as you can see I don't even have time for my own. I'm flattered you want my help, but I'm afraid I'm just to busy to give it. Sadly, I get a lot of these requests, and I've sort of stopped replying to such emails. My apologies!

8.) Who does the art for Cardcaptor Touya?

Almost all of the art for the series is drawn by my good friend Makkura. She doesn't really have a homepage, or I'd link to it. Occasionally I will draw stuff or heavily photomanipulate existing pictures to use for the CCT universe. All of the Lhaos Cards are drawn by Makkura, as well as Tiamat and the staffs.

9.) Can you (or Makkura) draw 'insert character/series here' for me/my story?

No, I'm sorry. We don't have the time for this. If you would like to comission Makkura (or I) to draw please feel free to email, but only if you're serious.

10.) Who is Aurik and what role does he play in the series?

Not going to give this away! Aurik is just one of the many 'new' characters that will be introduced into this series. He is not a 'Mary Sue' or anything such as that. His purpose won't be revealed until it's revealed in the story. ^^

11.) I drew a picture/wrote a story of/about Cardcaptor Touya/Aurik/Timat/etc. Can I send it to you?

Yes please do! Although we've yet as of this typing received any fanart or fan stories on Cardcaptor Touya we would be more than happy to have and host fanart and fanstories on the series done by you! Simply mail such submissions to me with your name, email address and/or homepage address and the title of the piece you're submitting! I'll happily create a fangallery in time!

12.) Who are the people that sing the theme songs and how can I get their CDs?

The opening theme song for Cardcaptor Touya is sung by Touya's Japanese seiyuu, Seki Tomokazu. The song is called 'Stay With Me' and is off his CD called 'Naked Mind'. The actual length of the song is approximately 4 minutes in length, but it was cut to about 90 seconds, the acutal length of TV Opening theme songs. The ending theme is sung by Koyasu Takehito, the man I designated as Aurik's seiyuu, although since Aurik is only a creation I made up, he was never actually voiced by him. The song is called 'DxD' and is off Koyasu's Jrock visual alterego Zazel's CD maxi-single also called 'DxD'. The actual length of this song is about five minutes and I highly recommend listening to the full version if you can get it (I hated having to cut it down so much to a 90 second song). The links I have provided will take you to CD Japan, where you can order the CDs, but mind they're based in Japan and will incur import fees.

That's all for now! If your question wasn't answered here, please feel free to email me it and ask! Thanks for enjoying CCT!
